Grenfell Memory Project: Consultation now closed
The 12-week consultation on the Grenfell Memory Project has now closed.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time to share their views, experiences and feedback on the five Grenfell Memory Project proposals we consulted on. We’re extremely grateful to everyone who attended a consultation session, spoke with us at a community event, completed a questionnaire, shared their thoughts, or otherwise took the opportunity to contribute.
Reach
Although the full participation figures and consultation data are still being collated and independently verified, we know that the consultation has reached a wide range of people across the Grenfell communities. The team spoke to people from diverse communities across North Kensington at 15 consultation events and distributed consultation materials to 25 community venues and organisations in the five North Kensington wards.
At this stage, we’ve also recorded more than 420 completed questionnaires, which gives us an indication of the breadth of consultation. We will not know the final participation numbers until all the consultation data has been fully collated and verified by the independent agency.
Our community partners
We would like to extend a very special thank you to our community partners who supported the consultation either by co-hosting sessions or by giving us space and opportunities at their open days and community events. This allowed us to meet and speak with residents and people from across the Grenfell communities. Their support has been invaluable in helping us reach people across the community and create opportunities for residents to have their voices heard.
What happens next?
All of the feedback, views and ideas shared with us during the consultation will now be objectively analysed by an independent agency. The agency will produce an independent report setting out its findings. We anticipate that this report will be published in autumn 2026.
Following publication of the independent report, we will carefully review and consider what we heard from family members directly impacted by Grenfell, residents from North Kensington and others in the community throughout the consultation.
Our response to the consultation feedback will then need to go through the Brigade governance process, which is currently expected to take place in spring 2027. Following the governance process, the London Fire Commissioner will make the final decision, and this decision will be announced publicly.
