During 2025-26 we worked with Goals to deliver a community football programme for young people in London. This blended football training with fire safety education and career mentoring, all delivered by firefighters.
Who ran the programme
This programme was delivered by two firefighters – Station Officer John Chinnery and Sub Officer Kristopher Barry. Both are FA-qualified football coaches with years of experience.
What’s happening now
While we're no longer delivering the full programme, our Football Section continues to work with partners to support events across London, hold football tournaments, and support young people through their local fire stations. Goals holiday programmes
Goals also runs activity and food programmes for young people receiving free school meals during the school holidays, supported by our fire stations where possible. To see if there are any in your area check your local council website or Goals website in the run-up to the school holidays.
