Museum volunteers

help us share our history

Our volunteers are an important part of the museum team. Volunteering for the museum is an opportunity to have fun, meet new people, use your current skills, develop new ones, and perhaps enhance your CV too.

Our volunteers are currently supporting staff primarily via digital projects, including researching what we share on the London Fire Brigade Museum Twitter account. Additionally, they have contributed to elements of our new museum redevelopment project.

Quote from a museum volunteer: I volunteer because I want to keep the heritage of London's firefighters alive for the future

So that we can successfully support the everyday running of the museum and many important aspects of the redevelopment project, we are currently reassessing our volunteer roles. Due to this, we are not able to offer additional volunteering opportunities just yet.

In future we hope to offer opportunities caring for our collections and engaging visitors at events, so keep an eye on this page, or if you would prefer to receive details of future volunteering opportunities via email, please sign-up to our museum newsletter.
