The London Fire Brigade’s Juvenile Firesetters Intervention Scheme (JFIS) is a specialist team trained to deal with children and young people who have lit fires or play with fire.
Our specialist team offers free tailored, one-to-one fire safety education for children and young people, as well as support and advice for parents and carers. Since our launch in 2001, we have received nearly 4,000 referrals, helping to reduce deliberate fires and address fire safety concerns in all 33 London boroughs.
If you have noticed any of the tell-tale signs of firesetting please do not ignore them. Early intervention is vital in changing a young person's behaviour and really can save lives. We take referrals from:
We require the consent of a parent, carer or guardian before working with any child or young person.
