Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to fire on Cann Hall Road, Leytonstone.
The fire was located in a mixed-use property consisting of a shop with flats above. Part of the commercial unit on the ground floor was damaged by the fire. Around ten people left the property before crews arrived, and there were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's control officers received the first of four calls reporting the fire at 2352. Crews from Leytonstone, Stratford, Leyton and Homerton fire stations were sent to the scene. The fire was under control by 0219.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade’s Fire Investigation Team.
