Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a maisonette fire on Eglinton Road in Woolwich.
Half of the third floor of a split-level maisonette was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade's Control Officers took the first call to the fire at 0321 and sent crews from Plumstead and East Greenwich fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0449.
The fire is believed to have been accidental but the exact cause has been recorded as undetermined.
