Twelve fire engines and around 80 firefighters are responding to a fire on Ravenscroft Road, Beckenham.
The fire involves a terraced house of two floors and a loft conversion. Crews are working to extinguish flames located in the buildings void space between the first floor and loft. One of the Brigade's 32m ladders has been deployed to the scene.
Residents in the immediate area should keep doors and windows closed where possible, due to smoke being produced by the fire.
The Brigade was first called about the incident at 2222, and crews from Woodside, Forest Hill, West Norwood and surrounding fire stations have been sent to the scene.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
