Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters responded to a fire on Gosberton Road, Balham.
The fire occurred in a mid-terraced house of two floors and a loft conversion. The first floor and loft conversion of the property were destroyed by the fire. Four people left the property before crews arrived, and one was taken to hospital as a precaution by the London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade received the first of 11 calls reporting the fire at 1457, and crews from Tooting, Battersea, Clapham and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene. Firefighters were able to bring the incident under control by 1632.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and Metropolitan Police Service.
