Five fire engines and around 35 firefighters tackled a high-rise flat fire on Trinity Way, Acton.
The incident occurred in a ninth floor flat, located in a residential block of 12 floors. The four roomed flat was partially damaged as a result of the fire.
One adult and one child had left the property before crews arrived. Both were treated for smoke inhalation by London Ambulance Service, before being taken to hospital.
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first of five calls reporting the incident at 0054. Crews from Acton, Hammersmith, North Kensington and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene. Firefighters had the fire under control by 0212.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a toaster igniting nearby combustible materials.
