Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to a fire affecting a range of terraced houses on Vincents Path in Northolt.
A communal staircase and the whole of the second-floor of a terraced house were destroyed by fire as well as part of the roof. Part of a neighbouring house was also damaged in the blaze. Three people were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.
One of the Brigade’s 32-metre turntable ladders was used at the scene as an observation tower, alongside drones and thermal imaging cameras, to give the incident commander enhanced situational awareness and support the development of tactics to bring the fire under control.
The Brigade's Control Officers took the first of eight calls to the fire at 0418 and sent crews from Northolt, Wembley, Harrow, Southall and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0623.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade's fire investigation team and the Met police..
