Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Wentworth Drive, Eastcote.

Both a loft and an outhouse in the garden of a semi-detached house were destroyed by the fire. One man left the property before crews arrived and was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service. He was later transported to hospital.

The Brigade deployed a 32m turntable ladder as a water tower to tackle the blaze externally and provide additional support.

The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first of five calls reporting the incident at 1547 and sent crews from Northolt, Wembley, Ruislip and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1713.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, resulting from combustible materials being positioned too close to a heat source.
