Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Garfield Road in Plaistow.
Part of the ground and first floors of a terraced house were damaged by fire and the external fascia of the building, and a garden shed were destroyed. Part of the fascia of a neighbouring property was also damaged. Four people left the building before the Brigade arrived. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first of 23 calls to the fire at 0824 and sent crews from Plaistow, Poplar, Stratford and East Ham fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0934.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
