Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire at a residential property on Chesterford Road in Manor Park.
Half of the ground-floor of a mid-terraced house was damaged by fire. A lean-to at the rear of the house was also damaged along with the garden. The rear facade of a neighbouring property sustained partial damage.
One person was assessed at the scene for smoke inhalation.
The Brigade received the first of six calls at 0625 and Control Officers mobilised crews from East Ham, Stratford, Ilford and Plaistow fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 0842.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
