Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a flat fire on Cornwell Gardens in Leyton.
Most of the second floor of a mid-terraced house converted into flats was damaged by fire. Three people left the property before the Brigade arrived and there were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first of eight calls to the fire at 1939 and sent crews from Walthamstow, Leytonstone, Homerton and Stoke Newington fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 2054.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
