Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters have been in attendance at a fire at a commercial property on Whitechapel Road in Whitechapel.
The fire occurred in the kitchen of a restaurant. One person was assessed at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
Some traffic disruption can be expected on Whitechapel Road, between the junctions of New Road and Adler Street whilst firefighters remain on scene.
The Brigade received the first of five calls at 1148 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Whitechapel, Dowgate, Shoreditch and Bethnal Green fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1239.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
