House fire - Welling

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire at a house on Cavendish Avenue in Welling.

Most of the roof space of a semi-detached house was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade received the first of four calls about the fire at 2202 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Eltham, Plumstead, Bexley and Sidcup fire stations to the scene. A 32-metre turntable ladder from Greenwich Fire Station also attended and was deployed as a water tower to help extinguish the fire from height.

The fire was extinguished by 2356.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
