Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a fire in a car park on Monarch Way in Newbury Park.
Approximately 12 vehicles, situated in an car park beneath a block of flats, were alight. There were no reports of any injuries.
A number of residents were taken to a rest centre by the local authority.
The Brigade received the first of 16 calls about the fire at 2231 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Ilford, Hainault, Dagenham and Romford fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 2331.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
