Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire on Brisbane Road in Ilford.
A vehicle and lean-to were destroyed by the fire. Two people were rescued by firefighters from a flat roof using a short extension ladder and taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service.
Control Officers took the first of 17 calls at 2256 and mobilised crews from Ilford, Stratford, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 0010.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
