Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire at a property on Ilford Lane in Ilford.
The fire involved a building made up of a shop on the ground floor with flats above. A shop sign was damaged by fire along with a flat roof on the first-floor level.
Three people were assessed at the scene by London Ambulance Service but did not require hospital treatment,
The Brigade received the first of 15 calls about the fire at 1959 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Ilford, Stratford and East Ham fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 2112.
The fire is being treated as accidental and believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
