Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire in an open area off Launders Lane.
The fire involved piles of waste left at the site. Crews worked through the night to extinguish the fire whilst managing limited accessibility to the site.
The Brigade was first called about the fire at 1642, and crews from Wennington, Hornchurch, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations have been mobilised to the scene. By 0600 the majority of the fire had been extinguished, with crews dampening down remaining pockets of fire.
