Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a takeaway restaurant with dwellings above on Ryefield Avenue in Uxbridge.
Part of an end of terrace ground floor takeaway restaurant was destroyed by fire. One man and one child were suffering from smoke inhalation and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service.
The Brigade's 999 Control Officers were called at 1403 and deployed crews from Hillingdon, Hayes, Northolt, Ruislip and Heathrow fire stations. The fire was under control by 1542.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
