Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a maisonette on Nightingale Vale in Woolwich.
Most of the sixth floor of a split-level maisonette was damaged by fire. Three people left the building before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews. One person was taken to hospital.
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first of 14 calls to the fire at 0514 and sent crews from Plumstead, East Greenwich, Eltham, Forest Hill, Lee Green and Greenwich fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0616.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
