Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a house fire on Hercules Road in Lambeth North.
Most of the ground floor of an end-of-terraced house was damaged by fire, along with part of the first floor.
Seven people left the property before firefighters arrived and two people were assessed at the scene by London Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation.
The Brigade received the first of 14 calls about the fire at 2135 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Soho, Dowgate, Lambeth, Old Kent Road and Dockhead fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 2218.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police.
