Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a grass fire near Herford Road in Enfield.
Around two hectares of grassland was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Crews used backpack blowers, which work just like leaf blowers. They allow firefighters to push flames back into already burnt areas. This is a tactic that provides a faster, more efficient attack on wildfires. Wildfire beaters were also used. The beater is made of a long handle with a flat piece of rubber at the end. They’re used to beat the flames, which deprives them of oxygen and cools them down.
The Brigade was called at 1312 and the fire was under control by 1511. Fire crews from Tottenham, Woodford, Walthamstow and Barnet fire stations attended the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Avoid bonfires and burning garden waste during dry conditions.
