Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire near Oak Street in Romford.
Around two hectares of grassland was damaged by the fire.
Wildfire beaters were used. The beater is made of a long handle with a flat piece of rubber at the end. They’re used to beat the flames, which deprives them of oxygen and cools them down.
The Brigade took the first of 20 calls at 1538, and crews from Walthamstow, East Ham, Stratford and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1710.
