Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters responded to a fire near Oak Street in Romford.
Around two hectares of grassland was damaged by the fire.
The Brigade was first called about the incident at 1538, and crews from Walthamstow, East Ham, Stratford and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1710.
