Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a property on Rosewood Avenue in Hornchurch.
An extension at a semi-detached house was destroyed by fire along with a garden. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade received the first of 18 calls at 1330 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Hornchurch, Wennington, Dagenham and surrounding fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 1448.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
