Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters responded to a fire on Westferry Circus.
The fire occurred in an electrical intake room, located in the sub-basement of a mixed-use block of eight floors. A high-voltage box was destroyed by the fire, and responsibility for the scene was left with UK power Networks.
The Brigade was called about the incident at 1849, and crews from Poplar, Whitechapel and Bethnal Green and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene. Crews were able to bring the fire under control by 2025.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
