Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a fire at a shop on Shrewsbury Road in Forest Gate.
Part of the shop was damaged by fire. One man was treated at the scene by firefighters.
The Brigade was called at 0459 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Stratford, East Ham, Plaistow, Ilford, Barking and Poplar fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 0601.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
