Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a grass fire near the A13 in Wennington.
One car was destroyed and around half a hectare of grassland, along with some fencing, was damaged by the fire.
Control Officers took the first of 16 calls at 1449 and mobilised crews from Dagenham, Barking, Wennington and Hornchurch fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1623.
