Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters responded to a fire on Harrow Road, Westminster.
The fire was located in a commercial property with flats above. Around half of the commercial space was damaged by fire. Twelve people were evacuated by the Brigade from the flats above as a precaution, whilst they tackled the flames.
The Brigade's Control Room received the first of two calls reporting the fire at 0109, and crews from North Kensington and Paddington fire stations were mobilised to the scene. Firefighters had the incident under control by 0322.
The fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by an electrical fault.
