Commissioner Andy Roe delivers his New Year message

Thousands of firefighters, control officers and colleagues in our support services were working over the holiday period and I must thank them for their dedicated service.

This month the Brigade appointed a new Deputy Commissioner following the recent departure of Dom Ellis who retired after 35 years’ service.

As we enter the new year, I’d like to thank our firefighters, control officers and staff for their service, working hard to keep London safe every day, particularly those who have worked throughout the Christmas period taking time away from their families.
