We all love trips to the beach but strong currents and changing tides bring risks.
Here’s how to keep you and your family safe:
- Find a lifeguarded beach where trained professionals are on hand.
- Beware of rip currents and changing tides. You may get taken from shallow waters out of your depth or get cut off by the tide, especially if walking along the shore.
- Never use inflatables in the sea. Strong currents and wind can quickly sweep you away.
- Follow any warning flags or safety signs. Get to know what they mean, but be aware they can vary in different countries.
- Check the internet for local tide times and information and visit the RNLI’s summer water safety page for safety advice.
