Gaining access in an emergency:

what happens next.

In very serious situations we may have to force entry into a premises. If we have had to gain entry, we will make sure the property is secure before we leave.

Making your premises secure

We will arrange for emergency boarding up of the premises. This keeps the premises secure until the owner can arrange for a permanent repair.

Emergency boarding up is carried out by Boing Rapid Secure Ltd, on our behalf. It may include:

  • boarding up any damaged doors or windows
  • fitting a padlock so you can get into the property

If the owner or occupier is there, they will be given the keys to the padlock. If not, the keys can be collected at  your nearest police station. To collect the keys you will need ID or proof of address.

What to expect after we leave

We will give you an 'after we leave' booklet. This will be given to the owner or occupier. If they're not there it will be left at the property.

The booklet includes:

  • what happened
  • what to do next
  • what fire station and crew gained entry
  • contact details

Keep this booklet safe, as it contains important information.
