Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Hainault Road in Romford.
A conservatory area in a semi-detached house was destroyed and part of the ground and first floors were damaged by fire. A man and a woman left the building before the Brigade arrived and were treated on scene after suffering from smoke inhalation.
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first of 10 calls to the fire at 0614 and sent crews from Romford, Harold Hill, Dagenham and Hainault fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0704.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
