Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Corporation Street in Stratford.
Half of the ground floor and a small part of the first floor were destroyed by fire.
The Brigade's 999 Control officers were called at 1307 and mobilised crews from Plaistow, Poplar, Leytonstone and Eltham fire stations. The incident was over by 1410.
The cause of the fire is believed to be due to the failure of lithium batteries.
