Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to house fire on Fountayne Road in Hackney.
Part of the ground floor, lower ground floor and a void running between the two floors was damaged by fire. One person was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service to be treated for smoke inhalation..
The Brigade's Control officers were called at 1120 and mobilised crews from Stoke Newington, Homerton, Islington and Shoreditch fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 1501.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
