Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire at a block of flats near Stamford Hill in Stoke Newington.
Part of a ground floor flat was damaged by fire. One woman was rescued from the flat by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus. She was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service alongside another patient.
The Brigade received the first of three calls at 1538 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Stoke Newington, Homerton and Tottenham fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1614.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
