Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters tackled a flat fire on Greyhound Road in Fulham.

Part of a basement flat was damaged by fire. Four people, including a baby, left the building before the Brigade arrived. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus rescued a woman via an internal staircase who was treated on scene by London Ambulance Service crews after suffering from smoke inhalation.

The Brigade’s Control Officers were called at 1727 and sent crews from Fulham, Kensington, Wandsworth, Chelsea, Chiswick and Richmond fire stations to the scene, as well as the Brigade’s Zero Emission Capable Pumping Appliance (ZEPA1), which is currently being trialled at Hammersmith Fire Station. The fire was under control by 1842.

The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by an electrical fault in a consumer unit.
