Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a student accommodation block on Chancellor Place in Colindale.
A small part of a first-floor kitchen was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade’s Control Officers took the first call to the fire at 0438 and sent crews from Hendon, Mill Hill and Stanmore fire stations to the scene. The fire was under control by 0511.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and caused by a metal plated used within a microwave.
