Five fire engines and around 30 firefighters attended a fire at a derelict tower block on Hawthorn Avenue in Bow.
A ground floor office, situated within a 22-storey derelict residential block, was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade was called at 1904 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Bethnal Green, Homerton, Stratford and Poplar fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 1944.
