Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters responded to a fire on Platt's Lane, in Childs Hill, Barnet.
The first floor and roof were completely destroyed by fire in the detached house consisting of three floors. One of the Brigade's 32 metre ladders was deployed to fight the fire from height.
The Brigade took the first of 12 calls reporting the fire at 1214, and crews from Hendon, Kentish Town, Paddington and surrounding fire stations were mobilised to the scene. Firefighters had the incident under control by 1458. No injuries are reported.
The cause of the fire is accidental, it is believed the most likely cause is a failure within a lithium polymer battery from an unknown device.
