Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a residential block with a ground floor restaurant on Wakley Street in Angel.
A small part of a four roomed flat on the first floor was damaged by the fire. One person left the building before the Brigade arrived. There are no reports of any injuries.
Control Officers took the first of three calls at 1417 and mobilised crews from Euston, Holloway, Stoke Newington and Homerton fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1445.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and was caused by a fault in an extractor fan.
