Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire on Walworth Place in Walworth.
Part of the second floor of a two-storey maisonette flat, situated within a five-storey building, was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade received the first of six calls about the fire at 1808 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Old Kent Road, Peckham, Brixton and Dowgate fire stations attended the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1900.
The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault.
