Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a house fire on Blenheim Gardens in Kingston upon Thames.

A small part of the loft in the three storey mid-terraced house was destroyed by fire.

One of the Brigade's 32m ladders was deployed to the scene and firefighters used PVStop on eight solar panels.

PVStop, is a black liquid polymer coating designed to cover solar panels like a liquid tarpaulin. Stored in an extinguisher, it’s sprayed onto solar panels when crews respond to fires. PVStop works by blocking the sunlight that powers solar panels, so the process of converting light into electricity is stopped, allowing crews to safely respond. There are no reports of any injuries.

The Brigade's 999 Control officers received their first call at 1233 and mobilised crews from Kingston, Wimbledon, Richmond and Fulham fire stations. The fire was under control by 1354.
