Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a mixed-use building on Falling Lane in West Drayton.
The fire damaged a ground floor takeaway restaurant as well as properties on the first floor of the building.
Firefighters helped to evacuate surrounding flats as a precaution, including those directly above the restaurant. There have been no reports of any injuries at this time.
Falling Lane remains closed in both directions between Royal Lane and Apple Tree Avenue and people are advised to avoid the area at this time.
The Brigade received the first of six calls at 0652 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Hillingdon, Hayes, Heathrow, Southall and Feltham fire stations, as well as appliances from Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue Service to the scene. A 32-metre turntable ladder from Hayes Fire Station was also deployed and used as an observation tower to provide the Incident Commander with a greater situational awareness of the incident.
The fire was brought under control by 0845.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
