Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters attended a fire at a three-storey house converted into flats on Ellesmere Road in Chiswick.
Half of the first floor of the property was damaged by fire. Two people were rescued from the second floor by firefighters via a 9m ladder. They were taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Three people left the property before firefighters arrived, including one who was also taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.
The Brigade's Control Officers gave vital Fire Survival Guidance (FSG) to two people on how to stay safe before firefighters arrived.
The Brigade received the first of 10 calls about the fire at 1100 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Acton, Hammersmith, Fulham, Chiswick, Richmond and Heston fire stations to the scene. The fire was brought under control by 1224.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
