Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a restaurant on Old Jewry in Bank.
An electrical fuse board within the kitchen on the ground floor was damaged by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
The fire is believed to have been accidental and was caused by an electrical fault.
The Brigade was called at 1742 and the fire was extinguished by 1913. Control Officers mobilised crews from Dowgate, Whitechapel, Dockhead and Shadwell fire stations to the scene.
