Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters tackled a fire at a block of flats on Galleywall Road in Bermondsey.
A ground floor flat in the three storey building was destroyed by the fire. There were no reports of any injuries.
Control Officers took the first of 12 calls at 1621 and mobilised crews from Old Kent Road, Dockhead, Deptford and Peckham fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1653.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Brigade and the Metropolitan Police Service.
