Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters attended a fire on Jersey Road in Rainham.
Approximately 30 metres of fencing and conifers were alight, along with a wooden outbuilding belonging to a property on Jersey Road. An additional wooden shed at the rear of a property on Conway Gardens was also damaged, along with an area of scrubland.
There were no reports of any injuries.
The Brigade received the first of three calls at 1442 and Control Officers mobilised crews from Dagenham, Hornchurch and Wennington fire stations to the scene. The fire was extinguished by 1606.
The fire is being treated as accidental and believed to have been caused by the unsafe disposal of hot embers.
