Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a restaurant with flats above on Lower Addiscombe Road in Croydon.
A small part of the ground floor in the three storey building was destroyed by fire.
The Brigade's 999 Control officers received their first call alerting them to the fire at 0936. They deployed crews from Woodside, Croydon and Beckenham fire stations. The fire was under control by 1039.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
